Today I launch!

My Leadership Development Coaching site is up and live today! Yahoooooooo!!!! I have been dreaming about this day for a long time but I had to get my ducks in a row and now, voila!

This site represents me listening to the beckoning of my soul as she asked me to do more meaningful work and show up in the world in a way that has me fully operational in all of my glorious gifts. This is the work my soul must have! In discussing her vocation, Alice Walker referred to her writings as “the work my soul must have.” Every soul has critical work to do on this planet. It is our role in healing the world. There is a Jewish concept called Tikkun Olam. It refers to acts of kindness performed to perfect or repair the world and is found in the Mishnah, a body of classical rabbinic teachings.

When you respond to the call of your soul, you are healing the world and making it a better place. It is your Tikkun Olam. It is a profound act of kindness (to yourself and to the world) to listen to your soul and contribute to the wellbeing of not just your life, but the entire planet. We can see how a gardener beautifies the planet by tending to the plants. We can see how Facebook’s founders have profoundly influenced social media by designing a product that helps people continents apart to be involved in each other’s lives. Teachers heal the world by educating our children. Your work too is equally important.

That may sound “pie in the sky” and “whoo-whoo” and overly spiritual but it is not. You spend about 1/3 of your waking hours or more at work. When you do not connect your soul to your job, then it sucks the life out of you. You become burnt out. You become a bully at work or you become bullied. You lose that zeal for life that is essential. Mild depression sets in. You develop soft addictions. You feel useless and lost…. That is significant!!!! Approaching the work segment of your life intentionally with your values and beliefs in line is key to your sense of equilibrium and purpose.

My hope for you, dear reader, is that you will honor the beckoning of your soul and do really good work to heal the world. It is in you. I know it. To that end, poke around this blog, read the posts and leave lots of comments. Join the community so you can receive my weekly newsletter. Also, send me an email and tell me, “What is your burning question?” Please, repost my blog posts. Tell others about me. Let’s start a revolution!

I leave you with this beautiful Blessing For Work by the incomparable John O’Donohue:

May the light of our soul bless your work

with love and warmth of heart.

May you see in what you do the beauty of your soul.

May the sacredness of your work bring light and

renewal to those who work with you

And to those who see and receive your work.

May your work never exhaust you.

May it release wellsprings of refreshment,

Inspiration and excitement.

May you never become lost in bland absences.

May the day never burden.

May dawn find hope in your heart,

Approaching your new day with dreams,

Possibilities, and promises.

May evening find you gracious and fulfilled.

May you go into the night blessed,

sheltered, and protected.

May your soul calm, console and renew you.
