Every day, we are all affected by the news and so many people are feeling depleted. One of the practices we all know we should engage in is self-care. How do we keep that on our radar? By being fully committed to it. Creating a self-care manifesto will help you design a lifestyle that continuously replenishes you. Join us as Jennifer and Iyabo model caring for ourselves as well as for each other.
In the Summer of 2018, my friend and I launched a podcast because we felt it was necessary to address social justice issues as they impacted our lives and our country. Present Pilgrimage, our podcast, is where we explore current affairs through a spiritual lens. My podcast partner is Jennifer Winingder, a White Woman, born in Atlanta GA who has lived in two African countries and visited over 25 countries all over the world. Once married to an Egyptian Muslim, she has two bi-racial and multicultural children. Jennifer is a therapist and you can find her at her online home at:Â http://www.spiritualpathways.net.
I, Iyabo, am a multicultural, bi-racial Immigrant woman of color and I have this unwavering belief that every single life has immense and incredible value. In my work as a coach and consultant, I help leaders create more equity and justice in their production as it impacts the world.
How can some of our more dehumanizing and limiting behaviors be examined, looked at, and transformed? Can we learn how and train ourselves to behave more humanely to others who are seemingly different from us? Can we learn to quiet the voices of fear and suspicion and open ourselves up to connection, learning, and understanding?
Thanks for listening to this podcast. Jennifer and I invite you to tap into your core values and join us on this journey as we explore current issues. Might we all begin to view the world through these amazing lenses of our deepest core values? Welcome to Present Pilgrimage.
